On behalf of Board of Trustees and staff, I want to wish you a wonderful and happy holiday. We have had a very successful 2008 year. We have seen statistics increase in 2008. Our Circulation check-outs will be over 141,000 items for 2008. This is the highest total in the past five years. Our computer use figures have already surpassed last year and will probably finish around 25,000 sign-ups which does not include usage of of computers to search the library catalog.
Along with intrinsic values the Library provides, usage statistics are valuable measurements of how our Library is doing. As Director, it tells me that the library is an increasingly valuable asset to our community.The Library has just added material in Spanish for our collection. It is to assist patrons in our community whose first language is Spanish. The Spanish material will available to check out at the beginning of the year. The Library has also added a collection of Playaway Audio books in its Youth Adult collection. Playaway audio books are new popular items with library patrons across the county. So, we hope our Library's collection is used regularly.
